Materials Manager

Responsible for providing overall directions on all materials issues within
the organization and coordinating with other locations the policies and
procedures governing the activities of the Materials Department.

Responsible for overseeing all materials functions to insure correct
quantities of materials are available when required to meet short and long
term operational production requirement. Meet Customer delivery and service
expectations.

A. Develop Master Long Term Materials Plan to meet present and future customer
needs, in accordance to SIOP.

B. Develop programs to accommodate changes in materials requirements due to
sudden and unanticipated short-term rearrangement of production schedules.

C. Concentrate on Rapid Response programs to insure organization maintains
established standards in conjunction with objective of program.

D. Determine Inventory Control policies and procedures to assure material
levels are maintained in most effective but cost efficient manner as well as
meet the DOH & Inventory Accuracy Objectives.

E. Supervise the activities of the Procurement, Planning, and Warehouse
Departments to insure proper material is available in the proper quantities to
meet production demands.

F. Supervise the overall in house distribution of materials from inventory to
production floor. Also responsible for timely delivery of material to the
plant, and from the plant to destination.

G. Supervise the Eaton Pharr Cross Dock operation, including the relationship
with UPS SCS.

H. Control dollar amount of material inventory to insure correct budgetary
costs are maintained.

I. Confer with suppliers as required to resolve problems.

J. Manage flow of materials to support Master Production Schedule, minimizing
work order aging and recommending material substitutions if stock outs occur.

K. Monitor Item Master and ensure system is correct and properly maintained.

L. Manage change implementation to minimize obsolescence.

M. Establish strong working relationships with Planning and Customer Service
teams to ensure that there is a good understanding of customer requirements
and changing demand conditions

N. Introduce and manage Materials Planning procedures to ensure processes are
in place and that supply meets demand while optimizing inventory levels. This
includes the management of suppliers.

O. Motivates and coaches employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction,
productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and
recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.

P. Effectively confronts employee performance and behavioral issues. Holds
employees accountable with immediate feedback when desired behaviors and
expectations are not being achieved.

Q. Shows empathy towards employee issues by providing support, information,
and counseling and in appropriate situations acting as an employee advocate by
raising issues with management. Follows through on commitments made to
employees.

R. Promotes employee development and potential through effective performance
management and coaching and ensures that appropriate and required training is
completed for direct reports so that they have the necessary skills, knowledge
information and tools to do their jobs safely and effectively.

S. Demonstrates an appreciation for similarities and individual differences
and promotes a culture of inclusion that leverages the full potential of all
employees.

T. Promotes employee satisfaction and engagement and champions the continuous
improvement of year-over-year results as measured by the employee satisfaction
survey

Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree
* APICS certification desirable
* Experience and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (preferably MFG Pro)
* Experience in a Materials or SCM Leadership role (min. 3 years)
* Fluently bilingual (English/Spanish)
* Intermediate-Advanced in Excel, able to develop spread sheets
* Results and detail oriented
* Analytical skills
* Excellent communications and presentation skills (written and oral)
* Highly advanced analytical and cognitive skills.
