Sr Accountant

As part of the finance/accounting group, this position is responsible for
reporting & analyzing financial results. This persons is expected to closely
support of the operations and other functions (PLM’s, staff. supervisors,
etc.), through timely and accurate to achieve and/or exceed financial goals.
This position has indirect responsibility for ensuring financial accounting
activities at the location are in compliance with generally accepted
accounting principles, local statutory requirements and Eaton Corporate
policies and practice. This role is instrumental in supporting the development
of and analysis of forecasts and actual performance and operational metrics,
as well as being responsible for the Plant budget process with a focus on cost
savings projects and capital expenditures.

Qualifications

  1. Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

  2. Bilingual: Spanish and English, the later one at least at 75% in both writing and verbal

  3. One to three years of experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting is a plus

A. Responsible for the preparation of the profit plan, rolling forecast and
weekly performance reporting. Drives business to meet or exceed short term &
long term goals, initiatives and expectations.

B. Review, analyze, and evaluate department budget system. Develop and
implement reports for management use in evaluating results against performance
targets

C. Monitor, review, and investigate cross-functional administrative
performance measures to ensure goals are met. Analyzes financial data for
trends and opportunities for improvements, including key financial metrics and
BSC items. Develop, communicate, and help to implement corrective actions.

D. Provide business partnership to all areas of plant with regard to
functional expertise and cross-functional support, providing guidance and
education as needed to plant personnel to achieve financial objectives. Act as
advisor and provide counsel to plant staff and personnel regarding financial
operations and interpretation of financial information.

E. Ownership of cost accounting process to ensures accurate BOM’s, routings
and standard cost. Ensures periodic reviews and updates are performed as
required, including review of variance analysis to drive continuous
improvement.

F. Support the process to identify and quantify cost out opportunities and
related data capture in database. Ensure integrity of financial information
related to cost out projects.

G. Support implementation of improvements to monthly closing procedures
ensuring accuracy and timeliness, as well as continuous develop and
improvement of financial modeling and tools.

H. Ensure accurate and timely submission of data to the various Eaton systems
(Encore, DFT, RSD, E-room, Cognos, EPM, BSC, etc.)

I. Coordinate annual physical inventory ensuring compliance with corporate
procedures and accuracy of physical count. Ensure appropriate cycle count
procedures are deployed.

J. Support BOC and development of Jr. Cost Accountant.

K. Establish and monitor compliance with internal accounting controls deemed
necessary to ensure integrity of financial transactions, reporting and
activities; and safeguarding of plant assets in adherence with corporate
policies and procedures. Ensure compliance of statutory requirements as
applicable to the plant.

L. Support the implementation and deployment of actions to ensure an adequate
environment of internal control. Provide compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and
all applicable statutory requirements as they apply to their areas of
responsibility.

M. Maintain an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement in order to
achieve departmental and plant goals. Support plant, functional or corporate
initiatives.

N. Support and/or lead department activities related to process improvements
and standard work. Assists in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous
improvement and team efforts for accomplishing department and plant goals.
Deploy & sustain lean tools and initiatives in order to reduce waste and
improve efficiency of the finance function

    Pros: La empresa es muy segura y tiene un ambiente laboral adecuado para desempeñar tus funciones de trabajo así como una capacitación excelente para cada operador

    Contras: El sistema que manejan en cuanto a categorías es muy complejo y muy tardado para los operadores poder realizar las firmas que piden y las oleadas .
